Strengthening Disaster Management System in Cambodia Through Risk Assessment, Early Warning System and Developing Building Codes

Description

1. Develop national and provincial risk maps, intends to undertake probabilistic risk assessment and establish a software platform for risk maps, covering all provinces and identifying vulnerabilities and impacts on major sectors; 2. Develop an emergency management information and early warning systems, aims to strengthen an end to end multi-hazard early warning system operating from national to community levels, together with the establishment of a disaster management information center and data systems that can manage damage and post disaster needs assessment. 3. Develop construction guidelines and codes for housing and buildings to improve quality and sustainability.

Key Activities

?For DRAM - Developed national and provincial risk maps covering all provinces and identifying vulnerabilities and impacts on major sectors; - Workshops on risk assessment - Developed construction guidelines and handbook for rural houses to improve quality and sustainability.
