Description

Advancing Integration is a partnership project between the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and the Australian Government, to support the integration of disaster risk reduction, environment and climate change adaptation and mitigation (DEC) into Australia?s investment portfolio, decision-making processes and approach to development and humanitarian work. ADPC in this project is providing support to ODI Partners for outreach across Asia and the Pacific. ODI in this project has engaged ADPC to ensure effective dissemination of the products across the region as a primary regional focus for Australia is Asia-Pacific. Harnessing ADPC?s existing networks and contacts, this will enable the series to be promoted in much more regionally appropriate ways. Dissemination will be primarily online, and through ODI outreach at a few selected events; there will be a small selection of paper copies available for ?display only? purposes only at these events. The project would contribute towards the dissemination of the Series of publications and project output that is identified as the ?Advancing Integration Series? and contains 8 publicly available products. The Series includes (note - each report has a title and subtitle): a) Existing knowledge: Integrating disaster risk reduction, environment and climate change into development practice; b) How to measure progress: Tracking integration: measuring development program results; c) The case of Vanuatu: Advancing integration of disaster, environment and climate change; d) The case of Vietnam: Advancing integration of disaster, environment and climate change; e) A spotlight on South Asia: Australia?s integrated approach: development outcomes in water, food and energy; f) A spotlight on Kiribati: Australia?s integrated approach: matching global climate change commitments with immediate needs and capacity; g) A how-to handbook: Integrating disaster risk reduction, environment and climate change adaptation and mitigation into DFAT aid projects, programs and investments; and h) Reflections and lessons: Unlocking policy reform and advancing integration: a synthesis of findings.

These funding will be used in fulfilling following specific program output/s of ADPC for meeting the institutional expenses, providing fellowships to participants from partner countries, organization of events in advocating the important of disaster resilience and building safer communities, organizing associated capacity building & knowledge management interventions in the region.
