Description

The main objective of the project is to conduct overall assessment of the financial sector in view of introducing disaster risk finance solutions as viable risk transfer options. In order to achieve the main objective ADPC will assist on catastrophic risk profiling and modeling specific to Bangladesh for developing a disaster risk financing capability and products.

Key Activities

-Conduct an overall assessment of the financial sector
-Analyze the division of fiscal roles and responsibilities for disaster response and risk management among the central and local governments in Bangladesh.
-Conduct country consultation meeting and workshops to assess need for disaster risk financing among central and local government stakeholders.
-Develop a comprehensive risk profile addressing key indicators of hazard exposure, physical, social, and economic vulnerability and estimates of potential disaster losses.
-Based on the assessment and consultations, develop recommendations on a set of disaster risk finance solutions suitable to Bangladesh.
