Description

Assist the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) to improve the country?s response skills while simultaneously increasing earthquake resilience through the enhancement of capacity of the hospital, fire personnel, fire service, civil defense authority, and related institutions.

Objectives
1. To enhance the capacity of medical and support staff in public hospitals to better respond to victims of natural disasters.
2. To strengthen capacity (equipment) of Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) Authority volunteers to conduct search and rescue operations due to natural disasters.

Key Activities

Objective 1

-Consultation with National Stakeholders
-Review and Update of Existing Curriculum
-National HOPE Basic and TFI Course
-Sub National Training
-The HOPE Basic course
-The HICS course
-Support in Developing Hospital Emergency Response Plan

Objective 2

-Consultation with FSCD on Appropriate Search Tools, Rescue Equipment and First Aid Kit
-Assessment of availability of appropriate tools equipment and kits
-Procurement and branding of tools, equipment, kits and storage containers
-Development of preventive maintenance plan with FSCD including proper storage
-Delivery and acceptance of tools, equipment kits and storage containers
-Monitoring of Tools, Equipment and Kits

Output

Objective 1

-Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies Basic Course (HOPE) Course
-Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) Specialized Course

Objective 2

-Individual trainees are taught to use and operate the right equipment in different situations presented in the different practical exercises.
-ADPC Team will be considering in finalizing the appropriate search tools, rescue equipment and content of the FA Kits together with FSCD.
