The Disaster Management Center (DMC), Vietnam is hosting an exchange visit of the Moroccan delegation during 19-25 June 2013. The short visit by the delegation is keen to learn Government of Viet Nam?s efforts in promoting community-based initiatives in various part of the country. This initiative is taken by the World Bank, which is supporting MARD on disaster risk management. The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) has been asked by the World Bank to assist in making this visit successful. The objective of the visit is to ? Exchange of experience with Disaster Management Center (DMC), Government of Vietnam on national DRM strategy, specifically CBDRM; ? ? Interaction with community leaders and local elected members to discuss operationalization of DRM in local development plans, associated challenges and opportunities; and ? ? Visit field to observe community infrastructure, plans etc
