Description

Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme Phase II (CDMP-II) has initiated for individual level building assessment in order to focus on the regular maintenance of the important buildings in the country. As a part of the first initiative, CDMP-II has identified three important Government Buildings (i.e; two ministry buildings and one Hospital) for initial assessment aiming Retrofitting Design of the respective buildings. Through this initiative, technical capacity with regard to seismic risk assessment and subsequent development of retrofitting design of the essential buildings will be enhanced of the relevant professionals of Public Works Department (PWD) and other engineering departments in Bangladesh.

Key Activities

For the building no 1 and 4 of Bangladesh Secretariat and Dhaka Medical College Hospital buildings 1) Preparation of as built architectural drawing
2) Preparation of as built structural and foundation drawings
3) sub-soil investigation for seismic risk assessment and developing retrofitting design
