Description
The main objective of this activity is to create a comprehensive hazard profile for Timor Leste that covers all the major hazards prevailing in Timor Leste, i.e. floods, droughts, tropical cyclones, forest fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, and coastal erosion, and will lay down a solid foundation for the development of a comprehensive national risk profile.
Specifically, this exercise will cover the following aspects:
a. Development of a comprehensive national hazard profile including major hazard-prone areas and a set of major hazard intensity maps
b. Enhancement of the national capabilities for risk assessment by engaging national professionals in the exercise
c. Improvement of the National Risk Information System ? DRMInfo ? by integrating the developed hazard maps
