PHE team is organizing a Training Course on "8th International Training Course on Hospital Emergency Preparedness and Response (HEPR-8)" at Swissotel Nai Lert Park in Bangkok from 10th to 14th October 2011. The HEPR Course is designed to assist health personnel, both administrative and medical, to prepare health care facilities and personnel to respond effectively to internal or community emergencies that involve large numbers of casualties. This will enable hospitals and health facilities in general to develop well designed facility-specific plans to increase their ability to respond to emergencies. There were 19 participants from 7 countries representatives (China, Sudan, Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor Leste). The opening was inaugurated by Dr Maureen Birmingham, World Health Organization Country Representative (WHO) Thailand.
