Description

Course Objective The HEPR Course is designed to assist health care personnel, both administrative and medical, to prepare health care facilities and personnel to respond effectively to internal or community emergencies that involve large numbers of casualties. This will enable hospitals and health facilities in general to develop well designed facility-specific plans to increase their ability to respond and maintain continuous operations during and even after disaster.

Course Outcomes The 11 are able able to: 1. Describe the roles of health care facilities in disaster management. 2. Simulate a mass casualty incident addressing the roles and responsibilities of hospital in managing emergencies. 3. Discuss the capacity of hospital in managing emergencies or disasters. 4. Explain the ?Hospital Safe from Disaster Concept?. 5. Apply the assessment tool in assessing hospitals safe from disaster 6. Prepare an outline of a ?Health Safe from Disaster? preparedness plan including response and recovery.
