To ensure the preparedness of GIZ staff to the natural disaster, an adequate training on disaster preparedness and first aid must be provided. After the training, the GIZ staff was informed about possible natural disasters in Kyrgyzstan, was able to assess their risks and knew how to react accordingly.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Preparation and implementation of a two-day training in English containing following sessions:

• Overall natural disaster profile in Kyrgyzstan
• Overall disaster preparedness-risk reduction, "emergency bag", precautions at work and at home
• Earthquake preparedness and reaction
• Flood preparedness and reaction
• Landslide preparedness and reaction
• Avalanches preparedness and reaction
• First medical aid
