In the newly published booklet, ADPC captures stories of community members and health professionals trained under the Program for Enhancement of Emergency Response (PEER).

PEER is a regional program initiated by USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) in 1998. It enhances local and regional disaster preparedness and response capacities in Asia through two initiatives: Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) and Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies (HOPE).

Coming to its end in August 2014, the third phase of PEER focused on improving emergency response capacities and systems in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
