The Preparedness for Response and Recovery team at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) recently welcomed Ms. Pilar Pacheco, Senior Program Officer, and Ms. Karla Bajana, Senior Program Coordinator of the Emergency Response Global Development Division at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) from 25-29 March 2024. The visit focused on reviewing the collaborative disaster preparedness programs funded by BMGF.

The discussions covered progress updates on initiatives, including the Program for Improving Coordination Capacity for Emergency Response in Ethiopia, the Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP) Program, the Bangladesh Preparedness Partnership (BPP) Program, programming in India, lessons learned case study for Locally-led emergency and recovery actions in Pakistan (LEAP) program and discussion on impact assessment framework and overall monitoring and evaluation.

These collaborative meetings fostered a valuable exchange of ideas and insights, solidifying the partnership between ADPC and BMGF in building more robust disaster preparedness and response capabilities across the region
