First sub-national HOPE training on conducted in Bangladesh

The first sub-national training of Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies (HOPE) was held December 8–12 in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The training is part of USAID’s Strengthening Earthquake Resilience in Bangladesh program funded by USAID Bangladesh.

The training brought together 28 hospital medical and administrative male and female staff to work on key components of hospital preparedness in the event of an earthquake. These key components included disaster epidemiology and patterns of injury, disaster communication and coordination, and practicing for mass casualty incidents and mass gathering medical care events.
