Refugee Health is intended for professionals involved in public health assistance to refugees and displaced persons. It deals with issues at decisional level, and discusses the priorities of intervention during the different phases of a refugee crisis, during which relief workers have recently faced rapidly changing and complex environments, new disease patterns, enormous humanitarian needs and relatively limited resources. Medecins Sans Frontieres has drawn on its extensive experience of working with refugees to produce this comprehensive operational manual.

This user's manual describes the development and application of a scale that relates tropical cyclone wind speed to the potential damage to structures and vegetation for coastal areas of the tropical Pacific Ocean. It also relates the wind speed to associated coastal wave action. The scale will enable emergency managers and decision-makers to more accurately and confidently make the appropriate decisions and recommendations in response to a given tropical cyclone warning. The scale will also assist in post-storm assessment based on the level of damage, especially where wind measuring equipment is not available or inoperable.

This videotape documents the reconstruction process in the aftermath of the great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake of January 1995. The Hyogo Phoenix Plan for reconstruction included infrastructure restoration, housing and industrial reconstruction, and socio-economic rehabilitation. The video shows how people and government can work in the spirit of partnership and cooperation in reconstruction efforts through "creative reconstruction", the active participation of all affected residents, organizations and regions, easing of regulations, and resident-led community development.
