PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The key objectives of the five days exposure visit are:

• To increase the official awareness of and familiarity with the multi-hazard emergency operation center and its characteristics

• To enhance the official understanding on the requirements of infrastructure, equipments and trained man-power for emergency operation center and communication system

• To develop the official knowledge and awareness of other emergency infrastructure to ensure timely and effective intervention by all sectoral agencies

• To increase official awareness and familiarity with adequate communication systems with stand-by facility and redundancy

• To provide knowledge exchange opportunity to official to learn about emergency operation center and communication system in Thailand


SCOPE AND SEQUENCES

The training is a 1 day (5 hours) full-time workshop + 4 days of knowledge exchange visit to the key agencies in Thailand that are specialized on setting up or creating emergency infrastructure and communication system in Thailand; namely, National Emergency Operation Center, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, SMART Water Operation Center, Bangkok Metropolitan Emergency Operation Center, Emergency Operation Center, Pakred Municipality, Suwannabhumi Airport Drainage Project, Thailand National Disaster Warning Center, and Bangkok Flood Control Center.
