Disaster  preparedness  of  a megacity  is  enhanced  by  disaster preparedness  of  its  communities.
This  case  study  shows  how  flood preparedness  in  the  high-risk communities  of  Jakarta  can  be
achieved  through  a  combination  of understanding their risks, preparing for  disasters,  and  by  improving  the early warning of incoming inundation.
