Regional Workshop: “Urban Resilience to Climate Extremes in Southeast Asia”

Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) with financial assistance from the Norad is organizing this regional workshop to showcase the Urban Resilience Initiatives implemented under the URCE program and the key lessons learned in building urban resilience to climate extremes in the Southeast Asia region. The Workshop also aims to create an active dialogue among the stakeholders on the innovative strategies for building urban climate and disaster resilience in Southeast Asia as well as in the wider Asia and the Pacific region.

The workshop will cover four major critically important themes related to building urban climate and disaster resilience in Southeast Asia, namely:

  • Risk-informed urban governance
  • Community readiness and local preparedness
  • Critical sector preparedness
  • Early warning 4 cities (EW4Cities)

Moving beyond the above themes, the workshop also aims to have an active dialogue on an Urban Climate and Disaster Resilience framework for Asia.

The Workshop will be held on 27 and 28 February 2024 in Bangkok Thailand.
