Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), in association with Viet Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration (VNMHA), will observe World Meteorological Day – 2023 in Hao Binh City, Viet Nam. ADPC will organize a workshop, as a side event of the World Meteorological Day, on 22nd March 2023 titled “Impact-based Forecasting and Warning (IbFW)” under the “Urban Resilience to Climate Extremes in Southeast Asia” (URCE)” program to improve the capacity of Viet Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration (VNMHA) and Viet Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority (VNDDMA) for impact-based forecasting and warning. This very well aligns with this year’s theme of World Meteorological Day “The future of weather, climate, and water across generations. This workshop also aims to develop an impact-based forecast matrix, with special emphasis on floods and typhoons in Nam Dinh and My Tho Cities in Viet Nam.
