Dr. Niladri specializes in the field of water resources management, with expertise in integrated water resources management and enhancing climate resilience within the water sector. With over 15 years of experience in technical research and practice, he has gained proficiency in various domains, including water resources management, climate change adaptation, system dynamics and analysis, fluvial geomorphology, and geoinformatics. Dr. Niladri's professional portfolio extends to the development and execution of projects focused on climate risk management within the water sector. He has been involved in flagship programs executed by the Indian Space Research Organization and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, with a primary focus on land and water resources management, as well as disaster management within the Indian context.
Dr. Niladri is a PhD in Geoinformatics and Fluvial Geomorphology from the University of Southampton, UK and holds dual Master's degrees, in Applied Geological Sciences from Jadavpur University, India, and Geoinformation and Earth Observation for Environmental Modeling and Management (GEM) as an EU Erasmus Scholar from ITC, The Netherlands, Lund University, Sweden, and the University of Southampton, UK. Before joining ADPC, Dr. Niladri contributed his expertise to various institutions, including the GIS and Climate Research Unit of the Tocklai Tea Research Institute in India, and the Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing Centre under the Government of West Bengal, Kolkata, India. He has also engaged in collaborative research initiatives with the Utrecht University, The Netherlands, and the University of Southampton, UK and a substantial body of his work is reflected in numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
