Businesses are slowly adjusting to the economic impacts of COVID-19 and some communities are experiencing new infection waves and restrictions. As such, there are calls for a sustained period of interventions from both governments and the private sector to respond and recover.
In particular, Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face a series of challenges during COVID-19 which include a lack of access to credit or fiscal stimulus packages. Such challenges pose a greater existential risk to smaller business operations and livelihoods which depend on MSMEs when compared to larger enterprises.
Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the Resilience Innovation and Knowledge Academy (RIKA) are facilitating a 'Webinar on Business Quick Risk Estimation Tool for MSMEs: Understanding Disaster Risk and Orientation to Tool' organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
The webinar takes place on Wednesday, 4 November, 2020 at 10:00am Bangkok time.
This webinar aims to orientate partners and businesses (particularly MSMEs) with the new online business Quick Risk Estimation (QRE) Tool that ADPC has helped develop.
The webinar also seeks to strengthen participants’ understanding on the importance of disaster risks and building resilience of MSMEs especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Aslam Perwaiz, Deputy Executive Director of ADPC, will be delivering opening remarks.
