The 14th annual meeting of the Regional Consultative Committee on Disaster Management (RCC) will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 3-5 April 2018. Supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the meeting will focus on the theme "Coherence of major global frameworks - Implementation of SDGs and SFDRR at the national level".
Established in 2000, the RCC comprises representatives of national disaster management organizations of 26 countries in Asia and the Pacific. It holds annual meetings to promote peer advocacy and knowledge exchange, explore ways to transform policies into practice and enhance regional cooperation to achieve common goals in disaster risk management and climate resilience.
The 14th RCC meeting will focus on strengthening coherence to implement and deliver the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Sustainable Development Goals at the national and sub-national level. It will also serve as a platform for member countries to share best practices and lessons learnt in disaster risk management and make recommendations for the implementation of the post-2015 global frameworks. As its secretariat, ADPC will facilitate the meeting and use its findings to inform future programs.
