Small Island Geographic Society
The Small Island Geographic Society’s Heyli is a mobile application that utilizes citizen science and crowd sourcing to gather data on coastal erosion and flooding in the Maldives. The pilot application aims to implement a measurable monitoring system and calculate the extent to which an island is affected by coastal erosion and flooding over a period of time. The data is then used to develop end-products such as maps and statistics to support development planning and further research.
