Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and partners concluded a four-year program to mainstream disaster and climate risk management into investment decisions in Lao PDR. The disaster and climate risk management considerations will be included in Lao PDR’s 8th Socio-Economic Development Plan 2016–2020.

The program was implemented under a grant provided by the Japan Policy and Human Resources Development Fund’s Technical Assistance Program to Support Disaster Reduction and Recovery. The grant fund was administered by the World Bank, and the program was implemented by the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Public Works and Transport, and Agriculture and Forestry, as well as other relevant institutions.
