Overview

The Office of the Executive Director (OED) provides the central functions of Executive Management, Finance, Information and Knowledge Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Human Resources and Administration. Its roles and responsibilities include:

  • Establishing overall vision, strategy and direction for the organization

  • Developing and consolidating partnerships/relationships with country governments, development organizations, donor agencies, regional and international NGOs

  • Developing, implementing and strengthening organizational and operational policies, structures, guidelines, processes and practices

  • Implementing and maintaining a governance framework and structure

  • Developing work program strategies/plans and mobilizing resources

  • Coordinating work programs and activities of the various ADPC Operations Teams

  • Managing the finances and budgets of the organization and its projects/programs; and providing accounting and internal control services

  • Managing human resource and office administration

  • Developing and maintaining a dynamic and up-to-date information and knowledge management system

  • Implementing an effective monitoring & evaluation system to ensure the quality of the organization's services, activities and outputs; to derive lessons learnt from its experiences; and to build a knowledge base of best practices

ADPC Executive Director honored for outstanding contribution to  South-South Cooperation

Dr. Bhichit Rattakul, ED, ADPC was honored for his outstanding contribution to South South Cooperation at the 5th Annual United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation held at the U.N. Headqurters  on the 19 Dec 2008. The event also launched the first Global South-South Development Expo from 16-19 Dec 2008 in New York.
 

Dr. Bhichit in his address on South South Cooperation on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction shared ADPC processes, resources in devising solutions for replications across countries of the South.
