Training on "Child Centered DRR" will
be conducted in Dhaka, Bangladesh to
facilitate the DRR component into the Plan
Bangladesh core approach towards working
with children, called Child Centered
Community Development (CCCD). Plan
staff will participate in the training. This
is a part of
UDRM program,
Building Disaster Resilient and Safer
Communities in Bangladesh, through which
ADPC provides technical assistance for
Plan-Bangladesh.

Training on "Child Inclusive Urban Risk
Assessment" will be conducted in Sylhet,
Bangladesh with participants from all
DIPECHO partners to introduce the urban risk
assessment module and to bring the
children's vulnerability into that
framework. This is a part of
UDRM program,
Building Disaster Resilient and Safer
Communities in Bangladesh, through which
ADPC provides technical assistance for
Islamic Relief-Bangladesh.

A Community Action for Disaster Response
course (CADRE) will be conducted in Da
Nang, Vietnam aiming to skill-up community
members to effectively respond to floods,
landslides, typhoons, and other disastrous

Two separate Workshops on 'Guideline on
Township Disaster Management Plan' was
organized on 6th and 15th August 2010 at Nay
Pyi Taw and Pathein in order to orient the
Township Disaster Preparedness Committees.
ADPC, in collaboration with Relief and
Resettlement Department, General
Administration Department, Myanmar, have
developed the ‘Guideline on Township
Disaster Management Plan’.

The Pacific Platform for DRM runs
from 9th to 13th August and includes SOPAC’s
launch of the
Disaster Risk Reduction Project Portal,
an initiative for sharing information on DRR
projects in Asia and the Pacific for
identifying gaps and areas of cooperation,
and improving planning and programming for
DRR. Project partners of this initiative
include UNISDR, ADB, ADPC, ADRRN, IFRC,
SOPAC, UNDP, UNESCAP, UNOCHA and the World
