Mr. Irfan Maqbool comes with more than 20 years of professional experience in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. He has designed and implemented technical programmes and projects in a number of countries including Pakistan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Timor Leste, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mongolia, Maldives, Kazakhstan, and Afghanistan. Mr. Maqbool has also worked with government institutions in South Asia for strengthening disaster and climate resilience efforts in the key sectors of public policy, climate smart agriculture, and integrated water resources management. Previously, he led the implementation of a pioneer initiative on integrating gender equality and human rights in disaster risk reduction in the Asia-Pacific region.
