"Disasters have immediate and long-lasting impacts on the vulnerable populations. Women, the elderly, persons with disabilities, children, indigenous people, and other marginalized groups are the most affected by disasters and climate change. Their vulnerability is further aggravated by gender biases, class, caste, ethnicity, and many more.
"Gender and Rights Matter - Stories of Inclusive Practices in Disaster Risk Reduction" is an attempt to document the best practices on inclusive approaches from the BRDR program of ADPC, which helps enhance gender equality, inclusion, and rights-based approaches in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Resilience (CR).
This e-book provides evidence and impacts from Nepal and the Philippines and also from our institutional interventions at the regional level".
