Bangkok, Thailand

ADPC has released its Annual Report for the year 2014. Providing an overview of the organization’s key activities during the year, the report also looks back at some of the key achievements during the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005–2015.

While moving forward to implement the newly launched Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, ADPC will stay true to the mandate it was given at its inception in 1986, and continue to lead the disaster risk reduction efforts of the Asian region with a comprehensive approach as defined in the ADPC Strategy 2020.

“During the upcoming five-year period, ADPC will further strengthen its efforts in building resilience at the community level and actively work to mainstream disaster risk reduction into national and sub-national development planning processes,” writes ADPC’s Executive Director Mr. Shane Wright in the report.

“We have expanded our operations by taking innovative action at the grassroots level and establishing new partnerships with leading technical agencies […]. We are proud to see our hard work in this area result in significant achievements, such as the honor to serve as the SERVIR Mekong Hub in collaboration with USAID and NASA,” he adds.
