Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) is pleased to announce that it has been longlisted for the United Nations Sasakawa Award for Disaster Reduction 2015, which will be presented at the 3^rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan in March.

The United Nations Sasakawa Award for Disaster Reduction aims to recognize excellence in disaster risk reduction and is awarded to an individual or institution that has taken active efforts in reducing disaster risk in their communities and advocates for disaster risk reduction. ADPC was selected out of an original 88 nominees for the longlist of 33 organizations and individuals running for the award.

ADPC will be attending the 3^rd United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan on 14–18 of March 2015. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to receive updates regarding events and talks during the conference.
