ADPC contributed to APEC’s guide on business continuity planning

3 Dec 2014

Bangkok, Thailand

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has launched a guide on business continuity planning for government officials. The guide highlights the challenges officials face in their efforts to promote the use of business continuity plans by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and offers ideas and options for overcoming these challenges.

Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) contributed to the guidebook’s case study on Thailand, which describes ADPC’s efforts in improving SME resilience in the country since 2013. During the past two years, ADPC has trained Thai SMEs on business continuity planning in partnership with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP).

The newly launched guidebook can be used in conjunction with APEC’s Guidebook on SME Business Continuity Planning. The Thai version translated by ADPC can be read here.
