Training on hospital incident command system for hospital leadership held in Dhaka

ADPC has completed a 5-day training on Hospital Incident Command System in Bangladesh within the program USAID’s Strengthening Earthquake Resilience. Held at HOPE Foundation in Dhaka, a total of twenty-nine health professionals – both men and women − attended the training.

The overall objective was to enhance the capacity of medical and support staff in public hospitals to better respond to natural disasters. The focus of this training was to sensitize hospital management and leadership to establish hospital emergency committees and hospital incident command systems. Hospital incident command system is a new concept for health professionals in Bangladesh and the training was well received by participants.

Participants in the training were health professionals from Dhaka Medical College Hospital, National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, and Sarkari Karmachari Hospital.
