Vietnam is taking the next step to improving DRR project planning countrywide, by developing a DRR Project Portal with ADPC’s technical assistance. A consultation workshop with government departments and development partners, including members from the World Heath Organization (WHO) and World Vision to move towards the launch of the online national Disaster Risk Reduction Portal was held on 22 January 2013.

The Portal will provide an online space for projects to virtually share information, and ultimately aims to improve project planning.

A prototype of the Portal was demonstrated to attendees, who discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the model's content, functionalities and maintenance. The Disaster Management Center (DMC) Vietnam hosted and chaired the consultation. The Portal is due be launched in March 2013. UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) support the initiative.
