Ms. Anggraini Dewi, Senior GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist of ADPC facilitated a discussion on the concept of disaster management and how earth observation can be utilized in disaster emergency response.
The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) was invited by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) to deliver sessions on the Concept of Disaster Emergency Response, Southeast Asia Extreme Events and Situation; and Regional and National Experience Earth Observation for Emergency Response.
The one-week training was held at Siridhorn Center for Geo-Informatics (SCGI) located in Space Krenovation Park, Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand. Participated by 20 researchers form Thailand and CLMV countries which include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, the training aimed to provide unique opportunity to improve participant’s knowledge on satellite-based information and technology for disaster management and response in an emergency situation.
