The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Pakistan organized a meeting to discuss the preparation of the upcoming 13th Meeting of the Regional Consultative Committee on Disaster Management (13th RCC) on 3–5 October 2016 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

GIZ and the Asia Foundation provided financial support for the event and proposed topics of discussion. These include the challenges and needs of the RCC member countries to implement major global agreements, such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the COP21, into the overall risk governance framework of the member countries.

This initiative will support the overall implementation process of the Sendai Framework for Action on Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) and to serve as an input into the upcoming Asia Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
