Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and The Republic of Korea National Red Cross (KNRC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration in strengthening disaster risk reduction systems in the Asia-Pacific region.
The parties will work together to advance the utilization of information technology solutions for effective disaster management. With a focus on early warning and decision-support systems, the organizations will enhance relevant stakeholders’ emergency response capacity in Asia-Pacific through training and capacity building. The memorandum highlights the importance of strengthening these capacities in order to be able to respond to the increasing complexity of disasters facing the region.
The Republic of Korea National Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education in South Korea. It is the designated South Korean affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
