ADPC, USAID, and NASA Jointly Launch SERVIR-Southeast Asia to Address Climate Change

Bangkok, Thailand – On January 24, 2023, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert F. Godec, Hans Guttman, Executive Director of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and Dr. Karen M. St. Germain, Earth Science Division Director, NASA launched SERVIR-Southeast Asia (SERVIR-SEA), an $11.2 million ADPC-USAID-NASA initiative to help communities across Southeast Asia adapt to regional and transboundary climate issues and mitigate the impacts of climate change and disasters.

Bishoftu, Ethiopia – A consultation and validation workshop on Stocktaking Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (EWS) and Anticipatory Actions in Ethiopia has been organized for 48 key governmental sector offices, and non-government stakeholders including UN agencies, bilateral organizations, INGOs, NGOs, and academic and research institutions. The validation workshop was held from August 23-24, 2024, in Bishoftu, Yatu International Hotel.
