URBAN RISK AND RESILIENCE SPECIALIST

The Urban Risk and Resilience Specialist will be the technical team member for the ADPC's Urban Resilience theme identifying and contributing to urban management and planning risks faced by the countries, which are in line with the global frameworks such as SFDRR, SDGs, Urban Agenda etc. The work will entail the formulation of strategies and programmatic interventions to improve urban sector development. The Specialist will have to take lead in identifying, developing, processing, implementing and administering technical assistant projects and services on behalf of ADPC. In addition, She/He will be assisting the Office of the Executive Director (OED) in promoting the Urban Resilience agenda within and outside ADPC

SCIENCE AND DATA LEAD

The Science and Data Lead is the principal technical expert in the SERVIR-Mekong hub and the primary technical contact with the NASA?s science team. The Science and Data Lead reports directly to the SERVIR-Mekong Chief of Party. S/he will take a leadership role in the development and delivery of scientific products and maintain an active network of clients and technical partners in the region. Primarily, s/he will lead the efforts of the wider SERVIR-Mekong technical team to develop new, high quality user-tailored services, data, tools, and models to address on-the-ground priorities of the Lower Mekong region, but s/he will also contribute to capacity-building of users, facilitate improved information sharing and active use of geospatial information for decision making in the region, and help ensure sustainability of hub functions at ADPC. PROGRAM MANAGER

ADPC has more than 30 years of working experience in Asia along with the national and local Government of its charter member countries as well as countries of the Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) on Disaster Management. ADPC works to build preparedness at all levels, from regional, to national, sub-national and even to individual communities. The Program Manager will be mainly responsible for leading the planning and implementation of program activities at the national and sub-national levels with Government, Local NGO partners, Private Sector Networks and the project team in Philippines.

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

ADPC has a need for support in the implementation of programs in Nepal. The main program in need of support is a 5-year program on Building resilience to inclusive and climate-adaptive disaster risk reduction in Asia-Pacific (BRDR Program). The program will take stock of, build upon and enhance current and existing knowledge, experience and good practice for DRR. The program will explore entry points, develop and test effective frameworks and draw upon the existing bright spots for upscaling and integration of gender equality and social aspects into DRR and climate change adaptation (CCA). The program will also seek to enhance regional cooperation through various capacity strengthening initiatives embedded in the Regional Consultative Committee on Disaster Management (RCC) mechanism. The Program Coordinator will assist in implementation of the BRDR Program in Nepal. Other programs in Nepal include the Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP) and possibly other upcoming initiative. The Program Coordinator is expected to provide inputs into these programs as well. The approximate share division of time between programs is 80% on BRDR and 20% on other programs (this may change over time).
