Program Overview

The Climate Risk Management Team promotes a more comprehensive and proactive use of past climate information and probabilistic forecasts ranging from weather (up to 5 days) to extended weather (5-10 days), intra-seasonal (20-25 days), and seasonal (1 month and beyond) scales for risk management in the Asian region. It assists countries to establish, enable, and operationalize an end-to-end institutional system that connects climate information providers and users for the generation, translation, interpretation, communication and application of climate information products, with a feedback mechanism.

Climate forecast applications projects are under way in the following countries: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, China, and India.
