Asian Disaster Preparedness Center
(ADPC) would like to invite you to a
press conference at 11 am on January
7th 2010 at Hotel Plaza Athénée in
Bangkok, Thailand. The press
conference aims to promote the
linkage of climate change adaptation
with disaster risk reduction and to
highlight the importance of climate
change adaptation. The press
conference is held in conjunction
with the regional seminar, Special
Report on “Managing the Risks of
Extreme Events and Disasters to
Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX)”
during 7th – 8th of January 2010.
The two-day meeting, co-hosted by
the Working Group II of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) and ADPC with
financial support provided by the
Royal Norwegian Government, will
focus on the interfaces between
climate change, extreme weather
events, catastrophes, vulnerability,
disaster risk reduction and
adaptation.

change.
