CALLS FOR SUBMISSION

Call for Papers

The Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness is calling for presentations for the 14th World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM) in Toronto during 20-23 June 2004.

The Conference theme will be "The Changing Face of Disaster Management" with
a sub-theme of "Are We REALLY Prepared?" A major goal of the 14th WCDM is to offer a program that challenges delegates by examining traditional concepts and methods, and to provide:

  • new ideas and approaches to problem solving
  • both leading edge and topical presentations
  • opportunities to connect with key individuals and organizations across the disaster management spectrum

Presentation abstracts must be submitted by 12 December 2003.

The WCDM 2004 Conference is expected to attract over 1,200 delegates from Canada, the US and from around the world. Conference delegates come from all levels of government, educational institutions, business and the emergency response community.

For more details, write to Adrian Gordon <agordon@ccep.ca> or visit <http://www.wcdm.org/> to access the Call for Papers and to see a more detailed description of the program outline.
