Working Group Meeting, 17-19 March 2003, Galadari Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Eighth Annual Working Group Meeting (WGM) of the Asian Urban Disaster Mitigation Program (AUDMP) will be held in Galadari Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka from 17 to 19 March 2003. The meeting will be preceded by the celebration of Disaster Safety Day in Ratnapura.

Partial sponsorships (ie. either accommodation or travel costs) is available for selected individuals actively involved in disaster management and related fields, and have earthquake disaster risk in their country. Preference will be given to city officials or government officials in the disaster management sector, or those who have long years of experience in earthquake risk reduction in cities.

For those applying for partial sponsorship, please indicate the sponsorship required and attach an extra page to the application describing:

a) Your responsibility within the workplace
b) Why do you want to apply for the sponsorship?
c) What you will do after the training.

The deadline for receiving applications for partial sponsorship is 30 April 2003. Successful applicants will be notified by 10 May 2003.
