Indonesia Urban Disaster Mitigation Program (IUDMP): Earthquake Hazard Mitigation in the Municipality of Bandung was started from March 1997 - May 2001. The Indonesian project objective is to reduce the vulnerability of the urban population, infrastructure, critical facilities, and shelter in the Indonesian cities to earthquake hazards, with the city of Bandung as the case study for demonstration project. Special attentions are paid to policy aspect, where issues on strengthening the disaster management institutions and earthquake mitigation are addressed at the local as well as the national level. IUDMP is managed by Centre for Earthquake Engineering Studies (CEES) and Center for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) within the Institute for Research, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).
