ADPC History Publication

The publication is being produced by ADPC to be used throughout ADPC’s 25th anniversary year in 2011 to highlight its developed core values, ways of working and current emphases to provide the basis for projecting its intended roles and opportunities for its various audiences over the next 10 years. It will demonstrate clearly and unambiguously for an external audience, ”What ADPC is” now, and what it intends or aspires to be in the near future.

While it will briefly describe and review key historical landmarks and signal accomplishments of program activities, emphasis will be placed on the evolution from current strengths and abilities and how they can lead a process towards furthering the innovation, collaboration, capacity development and practice across the spectrum of future disaster and risk management concerns in Asia and the Pacific. While it will seek to draw on the past, acknowledging current strengths, it will also be attentive to emerging needs of countries. It will therefore be driven by a desire to serve as a springboard into future strategic endeavors.
